How important is separation of church and state in the political arena and should it apply to all religions?
In my opinion it is imperative to keep religion out of politics in order to be fair to all. Anyone following various religions can be moral and ethical, and on the opposite side of the coin anyone following various religions can be corrupt and immoral.
What are your thoughts on this topic?

Its a slippery slope once you mix the two to any degree. I never do understand why when I attend any county planning commission or judicial thing at the courthouse we always have to open with a prayer. Seems to me that mixing religion with "the state" business. I personally find it offensive.

Exactly Teaspoon, and some have religious beliefs which differ from Christianity. Even the 3 Abrahamic religions of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism vary from each other, so how can it be fair to allow one religion to dominate politics and not others?
This country was founded on the premise of separation of church and state as well as liberty, justice and religious freedom for all people!
