Yes. I wonder if people aren't voting because they are so sick of this whole Trump mess. It doesn't seem possible, but, yes, it does get worse and worse.

I am not a Trump supporter, but I believe it would be great mistake for the Democrats to attempt to impeach this man, unless there is a significant split in the Republican ranks. There is an election coming up next year. The Democrats should take their case to the people, and let them decide However, whichever way that vote goes, will not end the agony of America. There is really only one way end it, a win-win for both progressives and conservatives. I'll post my suggestion in another sub-forum..
[That's not my photo, by the way! I'm not nearly so handsome.]

I really think its necessary for the congress to impeach. That is their job to stand against Presidential abuse of power. I do not believe it will get him out of office (passing in the senate) but history will show we stood for our principles and tried. I am sure Trump will gloat and use this as his redemption after the senate vote, but if they start being more transparent with the impeachment process (open hearings on tv) I think it might change a few minds at the voting booth. Its more than who wins, its holding the president accountable for his actions, we can't just turn our backs to abuse of power. crimes against our constitution by simply voting for an opponent, we must stand for justice even if it can possibly hurt out chances at the polls.

I voted yes. I do not expect him to get impeached. He was never qualified for the office. Trump has violated our Constitution, and etc.

Hi Doug, And welcome to the forum. I do understand your reasoning for not impeaching and the thought has crossed my mind many a times as to how much of a risk the party might be taking with an impeachment verses waiting for the 2020 election. If one purely wants to play strategy and make sure we win the 2020 election, then of course it probably would be in the best interest of the Democrats to wait.
But.......I'm with Teaspoon on this one 110%!. This man has wreaked havoc and flaunted his illegal endeavors in the face of America and everything good and decent and come what may we must stand up and let it be known that this abuse of power and total disregard for the oath of office he took will not be tolerated.
It may come back to haunt us and there is a huge possibility that the impeachment vote will be quelled in the senate, but I strongly believe that even if one knows that she or he will very likely lose at whatever she or he is undertaking, we must stand up for our beliefs. I have always taught my children to stand up for what is right no matter how difficult or what the outcome may be so I must practice what I preach.
